Our Story

After the January 2024 freeze decimated the 2024 vintage in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Craig and Caitlin Pacheco found an opportunity to help both Washington wine growers and B.C. wineries by matching buyers and sellers to fill the grape supply gap in B.C.

Along the way, we met dozens of B.C. winemakers, tasted hundreds of B.C. wines, and discovered a handful of hidden gems that over-deliver in terms of both quality and value. Our goal with VIN-STAR Imports is to complement our excellent domestic wines with a selection of varietals and styles that thrive in the cooler climate of Northern Cascadia.

We are focused on small production, handmade sparkling wines, aromatic white wines, and biodynamic red wines, and we’ve assembled this portfolio specifically for the Washington market. These wines are ripe for discovery, especially right now after a year of collaboration between Washington growers and B.C. winemakers. And even though we share a lot of similarities in terms of climate and topography with our neighbors to the North, up in the Okanagan they’re making wines on the geographic edge of where wine grapes can be grown, and in good years the results can be as stunning as the beauty of the place itself.
