Célestiale is Clos du Soleil’s Bordeaux blend that is soft and full of fruit with a classic and elegant structure.

The taster is greeted with aromas of fresh ripe raspberries and blackberries, baking spices and forest underbrush. On the palate the wine is soft and layered, dominated by fresh ripe fruit flavours of raspberry, blackberry, and pomegranate, with more subtle notes of forest undergrowth and spice, with juicy acidity. This wine is both approachable and totally food-friendly, yet retains all of the complexity and depth to truly engage the taster.

Signature is our flagship blend of red Bordeaux varieties, produced by hand, and aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.

The 2021 vintage was characterized by a cooler spring, followed by a particularly hot, dry growing season and then a cooler autumn. Vineyard yields were somewhat below average, leading to a real concentration in the resulting wines. The taster is presented with a delicate nose of pencil shavings, raspberry compote, cedar, blackberry and crushed black pepper. The aromas are ripe, dense and enticing. On the palate the wine is lushly structured with abundant soft tannins and refreshing acidity. The flavours are layered with beautifully integrated flavours of ripe berries, predominantly raspberry and blackberry, notes of pomegranate and fig, offset by hints of baking spices, all followed by a long mineral-flecked finish bringing to mind wet stones and graphite. This wine displays elegance and sophistication. Lush and hedonistic now, it will develop beautifully in the bottle over the coming years.
